Why is the price of this Nokia 770 not mentioned? In today's economy it's difficult to afford anything, thus the price is the first consideration for some of us.

Looks like a good item, was wondering though. Much I would use it for is, to set and program system via Eithernet link. Is there an adapter you can get for this? Thanks

I have the Kingston 2 GB. My 770 came with OS 2006. The 2 GB is recognized. That said, I have now reflashed with 2006. My app manager is messed up (again), and I don't have root yet. I had already installed ssh, and you need to get root before installing ssh. If i'd had root, I could fix my app manager. So, I need to backup, reflash again, get root, reload apps. But most of my stuff is on the 2 GB.

There are two versions of xterm out there. One is MUCH better than the other. I currently have the other.

The 2 GB is VERY slow writing, and is unreliable via USB from linux or winders. Mostly just very slow loaded from WiFi. Don't try to use it while loading stuff to it. I may upgrade to a 1 GB Sandisk.

I'm replacing my old palm. So far, it looks like it will work. I'm looking forward to building apps I could never have done with the Palm.

I purchased my Nokia 770 in March 2006 and still use it, everyday. The Nokia 770 is much more suited for my use, that I ended up selling off the Palm TX. I was a Palm OS software developer from 2000 to 2005, but developing software for Nokia 770 is much more easier. I started with Linux in 1997 and I didn't want to have a product that has software from a commercial monopoly.

No matter what people say here, I LIKE MY NOKIA 770. It is easy to program! It is easy to write scripts! It is easy to configure and secure! I wish Linux-based devices came out long ago. It was hard to learn to program a Palm OS device!

My motto is, "I won't buy any computing device, unless I can program it."

Sean, the OS is based on Debian, and I'm pretty sure it's Open Sourced. Check out maemo.org; I don't think this device suffers from Tivoization.
