If so, I would burn it again. I have had many a coaster that my burning app said was successful. Double checking the .iso md5 hash before burning isn't a bad idea either. I don't have any experience going the vmware route. I always dual boot, but thats me. I would think you take a healthy performance hit running vmware. I am a programmer/analyst by trade, but always in the Windoze arena. Anyway, today, I am going to buy a book on Linux (I think it is Knoppix Linux) that has a CD that is guaranteed to install - and then you have the book with it. What I wonder is this - will I be able to compile for Debian/Maemo on something else than Debian or Ubuntu? I tried to install both of them on my PC, and had problems with both. The Debian installed, but would not recognize the network card, and thus would not allow me to do a normal install, and the Ubuntu disc simply would not boot. Both of these things can frustrate and/or discourage a developer, you know? I have created WinCE applications before, with the embedded toolkit; that was quite simple to set up and use. If I have to use Ubuntu, I will, but I wasted a few hours last night trying, to no avail, and I would rather just buy a $20 book than waste any more time like that again.
